UK Police Service
The police are the primary point of contact for dealing with domestic extremist activity.
Organisations and their employees should report all incidents of domestic extremist activity to the police – this may mean reporting incidents to the person responsible for security in your organisation, who will then liaise with the police.
It is important report all domestic extremist incidents, whatever the level of severity. When reporting an incidents, you should tell the police that you believe it is related to domestic extremism.
Reporting incidents will help to:
- prevent a person or group from carrying out similar domestic extremist activities, and may lead to their prosecution
- build up a comprehensive picture of domestic extremist activity across the UK.
Local police forces deal with domestic extremist activity at a local level, from the reporting of incidents, through to investigation and decision to prosecute.
Your local police force will investigate incidents that have taken place. The crime reduction team can give advice to help prevent domestic extremist crime.
Local forces also have responsibility for policing injunctions and ASBOs in the local area.
