Working for NETCU

NETCU is a small advisory unit staffed by experienced police officers and police staff on secondment from UK police forces.

There are also limited opportunities of secondment for communication professionals in the Government Communication Network (GCN) from the Civil Service.

To join the NETCU team, you must hold or be willing to undergo vetting clearance to a minimum of Security Check (SC) level.

Police officers

Police officers should have a background in public order policing or Special Branch work.

We notify all UK police forces of secondments for police officers to NETCU, in addition to advertising vacancies in Jane's Police Review.

Police staff

Police staff provide an analytical and administrative function within the NETCU team.

Vacancies for police staff are also advertised in the Cambridgeshire local press.

Civil servants

Vacancies for Government communication professionals are also listed on the GCN website.
